Coming from a career in puppetry and a life of animating the inanimate, Sue Wallace has come to see all things as having an inherent story and point of view. Working as a puppet fabricator, she has always chosen the puppet’s style and materials to fit the narrative. And thus her choice of sculptural subjects and materials changes according to the narrative of the subject she is exploring, including carved wood, coloured pencils, resin, corrugated plastic, fabric, and paper. Her work is often playful and always theatrical.
