Robin Rumpf

Sculpture

Robyn Rumpf is a stone sculptor based in Bellawongarah whose work reveals the hidden narratives within rock — the understory brought to light through form, texture, and polish. Working with basalt, granite, and marble for over 20 years, she began carving under the mentorship of May Barrie in 2005 with the Callemondah Sculptors Group. Retirement to a bush block brought space, a workshop, and monumental boulders to shape. Guided by instinct and the stone’s natural form, she works patiently until ideas emerge, contrasting rough and polished surfaces. In each piece, the quiet stories embedded in the stone become the understory of her art.
